UgCS 5.7 - More Drones, New Tools, Better Performance

UgCS: Flight Planning & Control
February 3, 2025

We’re excited to share UgCS 5.7. This update brings new tools, better performance, and more flexibility for your drone operations. Whether flying the new DJI Matrice 4 or working in remote areas, this release has something for you. What’s New in UgCS 5.7?

DJI Matrice 4 Support

UgCS now works with DJI’s latest Matrice 4 drones. Plan and execute missions with precision on this cutting-edge platform. Heads-up: Cloud sync with Pilot 2 isn’t ready yet for Matrice 4 routes. For now, you’ll need to export routes manually.

Optimized Photogrammetry Algorithm

We’ve improved how UgCS handles survey lines near boundaries. This saves battery and covers areas more efficiently. Perfect for 3D modeling and orthophotos.

SkyHub Route Enhancements

SkyHub TTF routes can now be started or resumed directly from UgCS or the Companion app. No need to use the Custom Payload Monitor, except for Grasshopper routes.

Offline Routes with Companion

You can now sync routes from UgCS to the Companion app and fly offline. Start, pause, and resume missions without staying connected to UgCS.

Normal and SkyHub TTF routes are supported offline.

For Grasshopper routes, take off manually and start when airborne.

This is a game-changer for missions in remote areas.

Safer Missions

UgCS now warns you when:

  1. Routes cross between DEM layers.
  2. Routes get too close to the surface with DSM layers.
  3. These alerts help you avoid obstacles and keep your drone safe.

Other Improvements

  • DEM Handling. High-res DEMs are now downscaled to improve performance without losing accuracy.
  • Bug Fixes. We’ve resolved rare freezes and improved stability across the platform.

Why Upgrade?

UgCS 5.7 makes mission planning easier and safer with support for the DJI Matrice 4, smarter tools for photogrammetry, and offline routes in Companion
