On November 28–29, 2024, SPH Engineering organized a hands-on training session for the National Institute for Earth Physics in Romania. The training incorporated hands-on sessions utilizing the MagNIMBUS sensor. The two-day event covered essential topics designed to enhance participants' expertise in drone-based magnetic survey techniques.

The first day of training for the National Institute for Earth Physics began with an in-depth introduction to UgCS software, focusing on its core functionalities to ensure participants could confidently navigate and utilize its capabilities. The session then delved into AreaScan and True Terrain. Afterward, participants received practical guidance on planning and executing precise UAV operations, even in demanding terrain conditions.

On the second day, the focus shifted to magnetic data processing and interpretation, where participants explored the foundational principles of handling magnetic survey data. The session included real-world examples to illustrate key concepts and methods, enabling attendees to better analyze and apply the results in their projects.

This balanced approach of theory and application ensured that the team from the National Institute for Earth Physics gained valuable knowledge and practical experience to elevate their expertise in geophysical survey work.

This training equipped the team at the National Institute for Earth Physics with the skills and confidence to leverage UAV technology in geophysical and magnetic data surveys effectively.

‘We had an excellent experience with the drone and geophysics training sessions. The trainers were knowledgeable and approachable, and they ensured that all our questions were addressed comprehensively. The sessions provided a well-structured overview of drone surveys, terrain follow, and geophysical applications, equipping us with practical insights to apply these techniques effectively in our work. The hands-on approach and real-world examples made the material engaging and relevant, and we will carry this expertise back to our laboratory’, shared the customer from the National Institute for Earth Physics
