QA Engineer (Software & Hardware)

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing both software and hardware components, ensuring our products meet high-quality standards. The position requires strong manual testing skills, along with some experience in automation, and the ability to perform on-site testing using drones and various sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test documentation;
  • Execute tests on desktop applications to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements;
  • Conduct field testing using drones and sensors (e.g., methane detector, magnetometer, echo sounder, GPR etc) to validate hardware-software integration;
  • Collaborate closely with developers and engineers to identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA;
  • Perform integration testing for systems combining software and hardware components;
  • Create and run automated tests to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices;
  • Provide clear and concise test reports and document test results to support product development;
  • Analyze system performance and identify potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities;
  • Develop and execute test cases for embedded systems and low-level hardware-software interactions;
  • Assist in the design and implementation of test environments for complex system setups.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a software/hardware test engineer or developer;
  • A degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;
  • Hands-on experience testing complex systems involving both software and hardware components;
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, defect tracking, and quality assurance processes;
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data: to find, aggregate, structure, and prepare for testing purposes
  • Proficiency in using tools such as JIRA for task and defect management;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to translate customer requirements into actionable test scenarios;
  • English proficiency at C1 level or above; additional language skills are a plus;
  • Category B driving license (and a car for commuting to the office and field testing locations).

Would Be a Big Advantage

  • Knowledge of drones or other robotic systems;
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium) and frameworks;
  • Familiarity with testing embedded software/systems, particularly real-time control systems;
  • Experience with data-driven testing approaches for sensor-based systems.
  • Exposure to hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to present test results and findings effectively;
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment;
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities.
